On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, on December 10, the EU Info Centre organized donor`s evening, with aim to strengthening the capacity of organizations dealing with women’s rights. The donor`s evening was also attended by the SOS Hotline for Women and Children Victims of Violence.

SOS Hotline for Women and Children Victims of Violence Niksic became one of the local partners, who joined the partner`s coalition in the second phase of the project (2015-2016): ”Coordinated Efforts – toward New European Standards in Protection of Women from Gender Based Violence“.
The project is supported by the European Commission.
SOS line is a specialized telephone service to provide direct help and support to victims of domestic violence through emotional support, practical help- information, referral and advocasy. The target group of this service are victims of domestic violence, primarily women and children. SOS helpline is the first and most important public contact service for help victims who are subjected to the direct threat of violence. Competent, trained staff with specialized knowledge in the field of gender-based violence and women’s human rights runs SOS helpline, which specialized service recognizes violence in the context of human rights.
The objective of national SOS line is to help victim to become stronger, to service its acute needs, to provide support to the victim to strengthen its potentials and to regain control over its life.
The project ” The Unique Free National SOS Helpline for Victims of Domestic Violence ” is coordinated by the NGO SOS Hotline for Women and Children Victims of Violence Niksic in cooperation with the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare. The project was started in September 2015 and will be implemented by April 2016, with financial support from UNDP and the EU.
SOS hotline Niksic supported by the Oak Foundation realizes project ” Core Support to SOS Services for Protection of Women and Children Victims of Violence in Montenegro” , the period from April 2015 to April 2018.
The project objective is in strengthening organizational development and adoption of quality standards for sustainable support service provision in Niksic in the period 2015-2018.
Project is a part of Program for protection women against male violence.
